To All Post #40 Auxiliary members,Post #40 American Legion Auxiliary may be considered small but we are active. Thank you to all of our members and we appreciate your volunteer time. We are looking forward to another successful year in 2026. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Kim at Kwagner1962@outlook.com.Wishing everyone a Blessed 2026!Kim Wagner, Auxiliary PresidentA REVIEW OF OUR YEAR 2025Memberships –• 90 paid, 10 unpaid, 5 new members• Meetings held in 2025 - 7 meetings with total of 104 members attending.• Donations - $3100 to Auxiliary Programs, $2223.00 to local events or personsRed Cross Blood Mobile Drives –• 5 drives were organized with 227 units of blood donated.• There were 145 volunteer hours worked by auxiliary members and local high school students.• Student scholarships worth $3500 awarded by the Red Cross.
Veteran's Home Visits – • Veteran's Home visits in Preston 8 times, playing cards, puzzles and games and organized 2 Bingo days, donating $50 each time. Total of 105 volunteer hours. | ||

Burger Nights –• Served 6 Friday Burger Nights. Approximately 6 workers each night and 3 workers for next day clean up for total of 180 volunteer hours and $4224.00 profit.
| Poppy Appeal – • Organized tables in community with poppies available for donations. • $1023.35 donations were received and will be spent on our local Veterans. | ![]() | ![]() |
Fish Fries –• Helped with 4 fish fries providing prep work the day before and the day of the event with approximately 6 workers for total of 120 hours and $2993.00 profit.Treat Day -• Provided homemade treats for the Sylvan Manor and Kenilworth apartments and delivered some to Legion and Auxiliary members. All treats donated by auxiliary members.Cards –• 15 Christmas cards with $20.00 sent to local active military members.• Get well and sympathy cards sent to auxiliary members.Girls State –• Sponsored one representative to Girls State in June.
New Grave Markers and auxiliary flags – • Purchased 100 new auxiliary flags to place on graves of past auxiliary members. Several members helped with approximately 50 hours of volunteer time. | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
Halloween Party at Lanesboro Schools –
• Provided hotdogs and cookies and milk to children. 5 members helped with approximately 20 hours of volunteer time.
