THE “AFFORDABLE CARE ACT” DOES NOT CHANGE VA HEALTH BENEFITS OR VETERANS’ OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS
• VA wants all Veterans to receive health care that improves their health and well-being.
• If enrolled in VA health care, no additional steps are needed to meet the health care law coverage standards.
• If not enrolled in VA health care, apply at any time.
   *In most cases you will need you DD-214 (Discharge Papers) and other military records to apply for benefits.  To obtain the needed records contact the Fillmore County Veterans Service Office at vso@co.fillmore.mn.us for assistance or http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/
BASIC ELIGIBILITY FOR HEALTH CARE BENEFITS
• A person who served in the active military, naval, or air service and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable may qualify for VA health care benefits.
• Reservists and National Guard members may also qualify for VA health care benefits if they were called to active duty (other than for training only) by a Federal order and completed the full period for which they were called or ordered to active duty.

MEDICAL BENEFITS PACKAGE
• Comprehensive VA Health Benefits include inpatient hospital care and outpatient services to promote, preserve, or restore your health.
• VA medical facilities provide a wide range of services including surgery, critical care, mental health, orthopedics, pharmacy, radiology and physical therapy.
• In addition, most of VA medical facilities offer additional medical and surgical specialty services including audiology and speech pathology, dermatology, dental, geriatrics, neurology, oncology, podiatry, prosthetics, urology, and vision care.
• Some medical centers also offer advanced services such as organ transplants and plastic surgery.

GUARD AND RESERVE SUPPORT NETWORK
    Guard and Reserve service members face challenges throughout the deployment cycle that are uniquely different than those confronting their active duty counterparts.
    The GRSN is a partnership of programs working together to serve the National Guard and Reserve community, dedicated to promoting Service member and family resilience, connecting service members and their families with resources where they live and provides a support network to aid their unique challenges.

Elderly Veterans Assistance

Nursing Home Abuse Justice

Caring for the elderly
  This site helps determine the care requirements for the individual patient’s unique needs.
