Providing support to veterans, widows of veterans, children of a deceased or disabled veteran, and parents who lost a son or daughter in military service.
VETERANS SERVICE OFFICE MISSION
• Promote the interests and welfare of veterans, their dependents and survivors and to enhance their quality of life through counseling, claims assistance, education, advocacy and special projects.
• Assists county residents, who have served under honorable conditions in the Armed Forces of the United States, in securing federal and state benefits which they are provided by law.
• Further assist Veterans in accessing these benefits through the Veterans Transport Van Program.
• Assistance is also provided to all residents, regardless of the character of their service, in securing mental health counseling and treatment for alcohol and/or drug dependency.
The Veterans Services Office does NOT work for the Veterans Administration or the State of Minnesota and have no direct influence on the granting of benefits and are truly the Veterans Advocate.

ARMED FORCES SERVICES CENTER
    Open 24/7… the Armed Forces Service Center (AFSC) is an “all free” stop located at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport, for traveling military to include Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard personnel and their dependents, as well as Department of Defense and PHS employees (on orders), Purple Heart and Medal of Honor Recipients and their dependents in a travel status. Military Retirees and their dependents in a travel status are also welcome on a space available basis. Click here for details
